Let me Google that for you

November 25th, 2008 | 1 Comment | Posted in Cool Application/Website, Fun, Funny, Silly by admin

I am not sure why people ask some silly questions when they keep Google.com as their browser home page and sitting in front of computer? JFGI (Just freaking Google it), dude? Can’t they Google it before the ask?

I stumble upon a website- called “Let me Google that for you”, created by some genius, who must have frustrated by silly question. This is for all those people that find it more convenient to bother you with their question rather than Google it for themselves.

Searching on that website will generate a link for you that can be shared with your (silly) friend who ask questions before goggling it. Sharing that link is like polite version of Just freaking Google it, dude? Link will walk him through how easy it is to search something on Google and hopefully teach him a lesson: “Google it before you ask”

Seattle’s Automatic Public Toilets for Sale on Ebay

July 22nd, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in Fun, Funny, Silly by admin

These are not just other toilets (It’s stupid to spend half a million for Hering-Bau toilet). It has an automatic door close and open facility, the graffiti and impact-resistant stall, faucets, dryers and soap dispensers, and has an emergency 9-1-1 button. I am not sure why at the first place Seattle city decided to install such high expensive stuff ($500,000 price tag + $50,000 to remove the toilet if City decides to exit the agreement) where its know that such facility can easily be a target by drug users and become dens of illegal behavior. These toilets are a single person use toilet which can lead to unacceptable queuing and wait-times compare to traditional multi-stall facilities that accommodate the sanitation needs of many people at once. Seattle city could have use $2.5 million towards other project (like 520 bridge renovation instead of such a stupid APTs.) Who was the Mayer during that time?

So the five fancy-pants, self-cleaning automated public toilets (APTs) that landed in 2004, the ones that came with a mind-blowing price tag, are being sent away … … It will cost $500,000 plus about $50,000 per toilet for removal, a somewhat extortionate amount of money for an exit agreement — Source: Seattle Post-Intelligencer ‘Downtown toilets have got to go’ 3/14/2008

…Councilman Richard Conlin voted in favor of acquiring the toilets but now says, “They haven’t worked out the way we’d hoped. … We’re going to have to go back to the drawing board.” “They’ve become dens of illegal behavior,” — Source: ‘Seattle’s automated public toilets now haven for drugs’ Associated Press 10/06/2006

…high-tech public toilets are not as reliable as someone who really needs a restroom would hope… a little observation showed that plenty of people couldn’t get the computerized lock to open with their quarters. Other people have had the opposite problem. A bus driver told the newspaper the doors opened on one of his passengers just as she was pulling her pants up. — Source: ‘Boston’s High-tech toilets problematic’ United Press Intl 06/08/07

Seattle APT

Five of them are gone for an auction at a starting bid of whopping $89,000 Who is insane to flush away $89,000 for such a yucky loo?

Designer Indian Saree Inspired by Google Search

June 20th, 2008 | 3 Comments | Posted in Fun, Funny, Silly, Google, TGIF, Tech for Life by admin

Famous Indian fashion designer, Satya Paul, is inspired by Google and came up with an idea of Google Saree. (Actually, nothing to do with technology or what Google does, but still this is some interesting piece of art) (What is Saree?, definition of sari/saree) In fact Google is written as “Oogle” on saree (replacing the “G” in the Google logo with “O”) maybe to avoid any brand name issues with the search company—Google. Here is the picture of fashion model wearing Saree but frankly specking she is not wearing it properly as her foot is visible when she is walking. It’s good effort though but not executed very well.

Anyway, are you feeling luck? ;)

Most popular ring tones in year 2007

It is funny to me when you are out in public and hear the ring tones that others have on their phones. I was next to this executive looking lady the other day at the grocery store and her ring one was hip-hop music song. So you never know what people will choose. The ringtone is not just a 30-second snippet. It’s like a digital T-shirt for someone. As long as phones ring there will be a market for ring tones. Today AT&T Wireless announces most popular ring tones that they sold in year 2007.

The music industry may be in a state of flux but artists and record labels are hoping ringtones can help boost overall sales - Paul R. La Monica, Media Biz, cnnmoney.com

List for popular ring tones in year 2007 is like this:

  • Shop Boyz - “Party Like a Rockstar”
  • Mims - “This Is Why I’m Hot”
  • Soulja Boy - “Crank That (Soulja Boy)”
  • Nickelback - “Rockstar”
  • Akon - “Don’t Matter”
  • T-Pain - “Buy You A Drank (Shawty Snappin)”
  • Hurricane Chris - “A Bay Bay”
  • Sean Kingston - “Beautiful Girls”
  • Huey - “Pop, Lock & Drop It”
  • Fergie - “Big Girls Don’t Cry”
